Beware Poor Quality Conveyor Imitations…
Midland Handling Equipment was recently contacted by an engineering company in Romania who were working on a Power & Free Conveyor recently installed by another UK company.
The conveyor was a copy of our popular Trakmaster ‘203TA’ Power and Free System, but was of poor manufacturing quality and had been problematic for the end customer (a major international automotive parts manufacturer) since installation. The original supplier was no longer involved with the conveyor, and a Romanian Engineering company was trying to get the system in to a reasonable working condition.
The poor quality manufacture was especially faulty as the chain was constructed using bolts and pop rivets to fix the links and bearings together and welded steel blocks. This is instead of high grade steel spun riveting and sintered iron blocks to give full bi-planer movement, which is how our chain is constructed.
Other parts of the system, including bends also appeared to be of low quality, and fabricated from welded strips of steel, instead of the rolled C section our bends are manufactured from.
By supplying a complete new conveyor chain and other components, as well as giving advice and information to our Romanian customer, the end user will finally have a useable system.
