Mesh Belt Conveyors
Mesh & Wire Conveyor Sytems
At Midland Handling Equipment we offer a range of different conveyor systems such as mesh belt conveyors.
Mesh Conveyors are made up of a woven metal creation that makes a mesh belt; these can vary from wide opening to small opening mesh depending on your manufacturing needs. These types of wire conveyors are used for lightweight goods such as food production lines and can take various temperatures which means it can cater to hot and cold food produce. The pockets within the mesh belt allow great air and liquid ventilation. The most common use for a mesh belt conveyor is to glaze food, or cover a food product in something, the reason why they are so popular is because the gaps allow such liquid to get through as well as being easy to clean in-between the gaps afterwards. Our woven belt conveyors have the room for catch trays to be installed beneath them. In the food industry, this type of belt would be used in all types of applications from baking to freezing.
Unfortunately, a mesh or wire belt conveyor isn’t suitable for carrying anything heavy, abrasive or sharp as they can easily catch on that type of service. The variety of mesh patterns allows for a range of uses for this type of conveyor. The mesh comes in different patterns from rectangular to triangular, varying in different openings from wide to close. Our wire conveyors are durable in many different situations including high temperatures and chemicals.

Our Mesh Belt Products
Mesh conveyors are used in many industries to move products through different processes and production lines. Steel mesh belts are made from strips of steel, assembled onto rods and can be galvanised or stainless steel. The length and width of the belts are manufactured by Midland Handling Equipment to suit the product and application that your business needs. The belt runs on a steel chevron flat bed unlike inverted chain conveyors with drive sprockets at one end and a tension drum and sprockets at the other.
The mesh belt and chevron bed are particularly suited for spraying and drying applications as the open design allows air to pass through quickly meaning products can dry off quicker making your production systems quicker and more efficient. There are many different shapes and sizes of mesh conveyor belts varying the size of the holes and ‘pattern’. This means we can cater for all different types of business sectors. PTFE woven mesh belts are available for lighter products and can still be used in high-temperature applications.
